Have you ever thought about the rule of 4s: 4 seasons, 4 directions, 4 realms of our human nature (physical/mental/emotional/spiritual); and the 4 stages in life?
We have a long history, in a variety of forms, going way back. Before Keirsey, or Lowry or Berens, before Hippocrates, or Galen, the earliest recorded efforts made to try to explain difference in people came from Astrology, where it was believed that the alignment of the heavens affected behaviour. The 12 Zodiac signs (constellations) were put into 4 main grouping – Fire, Earth, Air and Water.
The FIRE astrological signs (Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius) and Resourceful Oranges have the notion of fuelling. They radiate energy, transformation, and the power of creation. They are known for their passion, boldness, energy, enthusiasm, courage, and a zest for life that often leads them to adventurous and creative endeavours.
The EARTH astrological signs (Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn) and Organized Golds have the notion of support for all things. They represent the physical world, grounding, and the foundations of life. They are known for their pragmatism, reliability, and strong connection to the physical world, often excelling in matters that require patience and persistence.
The AIR astrological signs (Gemini, Libra and Aquarius) and Inquiring Greens have the notion of sharing. They represent communication, breath, intelligence and the spirit. They are known to excel in the realms of ideas, relationships, and innovation, bringing a breath of fresh air to their interactions and thought processes.
The WATER astrological signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) and Authentic Blues have the notion of cleansing. They represent emotions, purification, and the flow of life. They are known for their giving way to emotional depth, strong intuition, and a capacity for deep empathy and connection.
Whether you are an avid horoscope reader, a student of temperament, a sky observer, or a lover of nature, or all 4, remember this: Each of us possesses unique gifts and talents that are continuously being polished and refined through experience. By acknowledging and appreciating these attributes within ourselves, we can better acknowledge and appreciate others.
